For just a few hours per month, you will help protect and preserve our beautiful Santa Cruz County State Parks and Beaches for now and future generations to enjoy and cherish.

This is organization is called My New Red Shoes and anyone can volunteer. This organization buys shoes and clothing for homeless/low income families. People can volunteer by organizing a shoe drive, sewing gift bags and making first day of school cards for kids. You can volunteer by submitting a survey on their website.

This organization is called Habitat for Humanity. This has a lot of programs kids can do to help the homeless by constructing housing, etc. The link right here goes to the programs on the website that younger people can participate in.
This organization is called Sunday Friends and ages 8 and above can volunteer on different Sundays to help low income kids and parents with money management, and health. There are games to play and families there earn tickets to buy household necessities. In order to volunteer, you have a small interview (usually over the phone) and you and your parents have to fill out a few forms. Ages 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult, but otherwise it's a great volunteer opportunity.
This is a non-profit organization called the John Burton Foundation that helps homeless children. They have been doing projects to help with education.
This organization is called the Bay area Rescue Mission. It’s an organization that focuses on basically helping the homeless by giving them what ever they need (food, shelter, showers, clothes, education, etc.) to get back on their feet. They even help the homeless with getting a job so they maintain a normal life. There are a bunch of volunteer opportunities, and they love donations.

If you’re in grades 6-12, join us behind the scenes at our animal shelter to help care for San Francisco SPCA animals, learn more about responsible pet guardianship and experience the satisfaction that comes from helping others. Community Service Saturday fulfills school or club community service requirements. Volunteers assist employees with feeding animals, cleaning their habitats and other daily duties at the shelter.
